What We Believe

Avalon Church of Christ seeks to be non-denominational, encouraging all believers to put aside man-made creeds and titles. We call ourselves “Christian” (Acts 11:26) and use the Bible as our only guide for what we believe and practice (2 Timothy 3:16-17). We elect our own leaders and they lead this congregation under the guidance of the Holy Spirit and in accordance with the Bible.

We believe these truths:

• That God is the Creator of the universe.
• That Jesus is God’s Son who died for our sins and rose from the dead.
• That every person is special and important to God but that all have sinned and drifted away from God (Romans 3:23).
• That those expressing faith in Christ should repent of personal sin, confess Christ as Lord, and be immersed in baptism (Acts 2:38).
